serene lodge stay

dry sauna welcome back note early arrival

they accommodated my early arrival, a wonderful touch. the dry sauna was a welcome amenity after i hiked. the welcome back note in the room.

the parking fee was a bit high, though convenient.

the den provides a cozy cocktail vibe and serves fabulous butternut squash gnocchi. wild mushroom risotto is also available. both options are delicious and expertly prepared.

the hotel includes a spa with lovely product selections. the rocky mountaineer train even has a station stop, located at the rear of the hotel. the valley trail passes right next to the hotel.

the staff is friendly and helpful, they go above and beyond. they offer a free shuttle service to and from the village. i really enjoyed the service at this hotel.

the rooms have luxury green velvet robes and slippers provided. bathrooms include a large two person bath with salt cubes. loccitane toiletries are available in every bathroom.

incompetent staff underwhelming pool area

the room was beautiful and had a fantastic view of the lake.

The front desk staff were incompetent and rude. I expected more from the service. the hot tub and pool area were totally underwhelming. the shuttle service was not useful at all.

Underwhelming Experience at an Overpriced Lodge

slow service burned flatbread

The service was far from acceptable. Drink orders regularly took upwards of 15 minutes. I received a lukewarm, half-filled teapot one morning, and the server seemed unsure how to address the issue. Staff removed dishes while food remained. I observed a general aimlessness among the staff. Requests for basic items like plates and cutlery required multiple trips to find them. A burned flatbread did arrive before drinks. At no time did staff offer a comped meal.

solid stay, few hiccups

shuttle service room temperature comfortable bed

the shuttle service to the village made movement super easy. i could explore without worrying about transportation. the room let me control the temperature, a nice touch. my king size bed was also very comfortable.

the internet connection wasnt usable. the hotel couldnt fix it. my cell phone reception wasnt good either, so i was disconnected.

the hotel overlooks a lake. i loved having bikes available with the room rental. there are walking and bike paths near the hotel that go around the area. i easily saved on parking in town as they have a free shuttle.

I stayed for three nights and appreciated the shuttle service to the village. it was very helpful and made getting around so easy. the room was also really nice with a fridge and a coffee machine. It met my needs well.
